Day 3 - Tuesday - London

Today we got a little bit of a late start, one too many pints at the pub last night. After finally making it out of the flat, we grabbed some awesome Italian pizza and jumped on the underground.

Todays stops included the Tower Bridge and the Tate Modern Art Museum. I learned that the London bridge is really ugly and unimpressive. The Tower Bridge is the famous bridge.

We walked down through the south of town and along the river Thames. We passed Southwark Cathedral.

After finally we arrived at the Tate, we saw works by Lichtenstein, Matisse, Picasso and many others. My favorite by far was Jackson Pollack.

We hit the gift shop and I got a Warhol print of Marilyn Monroe.

On the way home we stopped in a little boutique where I got shoes (shocked, not). I got a pair of knee high heeled boots and ankle heeled boots - pictures below.

For dinner we went to this awesome Italian restaurant. We have a bottle of pinot grigio, an antipasto of tomato, mozzarella, avocado, and basil. Dinner was stuffed cheese and spinach tortellini. It was really delicious and beautiful. So beautiful that I took pictures, of course.

Early tomorrow we are off to Paris for the day. Our train leaves at 7am so it's going to be an early boring night.

Until tomorrow...

Day 2 - Monday - London

Woke up this morning in a little bit of a rush. Everyone had to get ready and get out of the flat. In that process, I managed to blow up my straightener, yay for me (sarcastic this time).

After we finally were on our way,  we grabbed some authentic cafe breakfast (mcdonalds) and jumped on the underground.

We headed towards hyde park so we could make to our tour on time. Our guide, Thomas, was from ireland and kind of cheeky, as they say here.

I learned a ton of british history, that they have a real problem with the germans and that we, the usa, sent them a statute of george washington, happy revolutionary (or should I say the american rebellion present).

We saw Buckingham Palace, the Royal Guard (you can't mess with them anymore), Big Ben (not really because I learned that's the bell that sits in St Stephens tower), Parliament, Westminster Abbey, and Telfauga Square.

After that, got an authentic plate of fish and chips and english ale for lunch.

Jumped back on the underground to high tailed it to lpk london for my appointment. I love lpk even more now. All the people were absolutely awesome and gave me enough ideas for a longer trip than I'm unfortunately here for.

All that walking really tired us out, so what did we do? Of course find a pub and get a pint. Met some australian friends and tried to answer all their questions about america (I got the one about why michael jackson was no longer on scene, rip michael).

After that it was dinner and home. But if course we needed to experience the nightlife, so we went out. We got quite a bit turned around but finally found a pub. There we met some spaniards which was a whole lost in translation ordeal.

Now that we are home, it's finally bed time. Tomorrow will be so late sleep.

Until tomorrow...

Day 1 - Sunday - London

Was waiting for that little plane icon to get over London for what seemed like forever.

It finally got there, then we circled end city three times.

Managed to navigate the tube by myself, yay for me, to meet up with Jared and Kendra.

Later we walked around Notting Hill (and no, Hugh Grant does not live here, despite tourist asking Jared day in and day out)

We then went out East to the Liverpool.Street Station and walked around the markets there.

Made some good purchases (see pictures).
Jared bought me an early Christmas gift with my new purse - thanks big bro. I also got a really pretty scarf.

Checked out a pub called Dirty Dick's and then Winston Churchill Arms (which is where Winston Churchill wrote his war time speeches) for dinner. It is pub / greenhouse / Thai restaurant and the food was delicious.

I rode my first double decker bus.

After being up for thirty straight hours, it is time for a nap.

P.s. While I have not been to the Travel Bookshop, I did check in there because it is the bookstore from the movie and I do want to stop in.

Tomorrow will be a full day and I will actually have my camera to update pictures on the go.

Until tomorrow...

Europe

I will be leaving for Europe tomorrow. I will be hopefully updating from abroad. This will of course be determined upon a stable internet connection.

Stay Tuned!

Pink Glass and Freshwater Pearl

I apologize for being unable to post yesterday.

This necklace is made from Pink Glass beads and Freshwater Pearls. I kept the beads in a consistant pattern throughout the piece.

Gold and Green Circles

I have found myself using circular shapes in my work more and more. There is something about that fluidity and continuos elements they appeal to me visually. This necklace is made from glass and metal beads.
